Billing questions
Only workspace admins see billing, in Settings → Billing on the web.
Who bills us?
Mittral is a product of AYOH. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Applied Optimisation UK Ltd, and payments are processed by Stripe. Checkout, receipts and invoices come from Stripe.
Which currency do we pay in?
Prices are set in US dollars. Where Stripe supports it, checkout can show and charge the price in your own currency (for example, rand in South Africa) at Stripe’s exchange rate, which includes a conversion fee of about 2–4%. You can choose to pay in US dollars instead. The amount in your currency follows the exchange rate, so it can change from month to month.
How often are we billed?
Monthly, per workspace. There’s no annual option yet. Your purchase order (PO) allowance always resets on the calendar month in your workspace’s time zone, whatever day you’re billed.
How do we upgrade?
From Free, choose a plan in Settings → Billing and pay by card through Stripe Checkout. Checkout asks for your billing address and can take a tax ID. The new plan applies as soon as the payment goes through.
From one paid plan to a bigger one, you’re charged the difference for the rest of the current billing period straight away, and the bigger plan applies once that payment succeeds. If the payment fails or isn’t completed, you stay on your current plan.
What happens when we move to a smaller plan?
The change takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for; until then nothing changes, and Keep on the Billing page undoes it.
Nobody is removed. If the workspace has more members than the smaller plan includes, pending invitations over the limit are cancelled and new invitations are blocked. POs keep being issued for 14 days; after that, new POs wait on hold until an admin deactivates members or upgrades. New POs use the smaller plan’s branding; POs already issued don’t change.
How do we cancel?
Choose Manage billing on the Billing page to open Stripe’s billing portal and cancel. The paid plan continues to the end of the period, then the workspace moves to Free. Admins are emailed the date it ends, and again when the workspace moves to Free.
Is anything deleted when we move to Free?
No. Requests, POs, PDFs and files all stay. Free’s limits apply to new activity: for example, POs over Free’s monthly allowance wait on hold, and uploads stop if the workspace is over Free’s storage. Upgrading again lifts them.
What if a payment fails?
Admins are emailed when a payment fails, with a link to the Billing page to update the card. The plan carries on while Stripe retries the payment. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the workspace moves to Free, with nothing deleted, and admins are emailed again.
Where are our invoices and card details?
Choose Manage billing on the Billing page. Stripe’s portal lets you update your card, download invoices and change billing details and tax IDs.
Are there overage charges?
Never automatically. At a limit Mittral holds POs or stops uploads instead of charging; see limits.
How do we get Enterprise?
Enterprise is $550 a month, with your logo and branding on POs and supplier emails, unlimited users and POs, dedicated support and custom on-site training. It isn’t bought through checkout: talk to us and we’ll set it up for your workspace.
