Mittral vs Precoro

Precoro is a procure-to-pay platform for mid-sized companies: requests, approvals, purchase orders, receipts, invoice matching, budgets, supplier payments and accounting software connections, set up with a customer success manager. Mittral is for small and mid-sized teams that want each purchase request routed by amount to the right approvers, then sent to the supplier as a numbered purchase order, starting free and set up in the browser.

Precoro: a procurement and accounts payable platform for mid-sized companies, covering every step from intake and approval to receiving, invoices and payment. [6]

WhatMittralPrecoro
Free plan Free forever: 2 users, 10 purchase orders a month, 1 GB. No card. No free plan is listed. Each plan is offered through “Request a Quote” or a demo. [1]
Cheapest paid plan $39 a month for 5 users and 75 purchase orders a month (USD, billed monthly). Core starts at $499 a month, billed annually. Users are “tier-based”; the tiers are not published. [1]
How pricing scales Per workspace, by users and purchase orders a month: Starter $39, Growth $128, Business $227, Enterprise $550. No overage charges. Package-based, all billed annually: Core from $499 a month, Automation from $999 a month, Enterprise custom (unlimited users); a separate AP Module from $499 a month. Paid add-ons on request: Multiple Companies, Integrations, Concierge Setup and Dedicated Support. They accept US dollars, pounds and euros. [1]
Approval routed by amount Every request is routed by its total excluding tax. On a person’s approval path they have their own limit; above it the request goes to each approver in turn until one whose limit covers the total signs it off. People without a path follow a workspace rule an admin sets. Yes: approvals can be customised by team structure, location and spend limits, with thresholds and steps set to fit your approval logic. [2]
Several approvers in sequence Yes: each approver on the path in turn, then super users when no limit covers the total. Yes: multi-level approval workflows by department, location, project or budget, with time limits on each step. [3]
Self-approval blocked Nobody can approve a request they raised, even if they are an approver on its path. Not stated on their site. [2]
Approver away An approver, or an admin for them, marks the days they are away. Requests move on to the next approver on the path or to super users, or to a colleague an admin names to cover, who decides with the away approver’s limit. An admin can replace the approver at any step; pending requests move to the new approver, and only users with the right permissions are suggested. [4]
PO sent to the supplier After the final approval, Mittral generates a numbered purchase order as a PDF and emails it to the supplier. After internal approval the PO is sent to the supplier automatically, by email or through the Supplier Portal (Supplier Portal on Automation and up). [5]
Revise, resend, cancel a PO An issued purchase order can be revised, sent again or cancelled by the requester or an admin, and its history stays on the request. Not stated on their site in those terms. They list tracking each PO from draft to payment, and approval logs with document revision history. [2]
Your logo on the PO On Business and Enterprise, the purchase order PDF and supplier email carry your own logo and colour; other plans use Mittral’s template with a small “Powered by Mittral” line. Not stated on their site. [2]
Send from your own email On Business and Enterprise, supplier orders can be sent from your own email address, through Microsoft 365 or your mail server’s SMTP settings. Not stated on their site. [2]
Several buying entities One workspace holds several buying entities, each with its own legal name, address and VAT number on its orders, and branches under them that print as the delivery location. Yes, through the Multiple Companies add-on (price not published): purchases, users and budgets across branches and subsidiaries in one account. [1]
Quotes and photos on a request A request can carry PDF, JPG or PNG attachments, up to 10 files, such as the supplier’s quote or a photo. Documents can be attached to a request, with colleagues tagged and internal notes. [2]
Duplicate quote warning A quote or reference number entered on a request is checked against other requests awaiting approval or already approved, and a possible duplicate is flagged before submission. Duplicate invoices are flagged automatically. Duplicate quotes on requests are not mentioned. [2]
Audit log Admins have an audit log of changes made in the workspace. Yes: an audit trail with approval logs and document revision history. [2]
Getting data out Starter, Growth, Business and Enterprise include CSV export of issued orders and signed webhooks that send each issued order to your own systems. A workspace admin can export the workspace’s records and files, and delete the workspace after a grace period in which the deletion can be cancelled, from the app. Flat-file import and export on every plan, XLSX reports, and API access on Automation and up. Their FAQ says you can export all your data if you leave. [1]
Accounting connection Mittral does not connect to accounting software. Issued orders leave by CSV export and webhooks on paid plans. Yes: two accounting software connections on Core, a wider range on Automation, and ERP and custom-built integrations on Enterprise. An Integrations add-on is also listed. [1]
Goods receipt and invoice matching Not included. Mittral covers purchase requests, approvals and purchase orders. It does not receive goods, hold budgets, match invoices, pay suppliers or keep stock. Yes: receipts, invoices and 2- and 3-way matching on Core, with invoice payments, prepaid virtual cards and a contract repository; AI-powered invoice-to-PO matching, real-time budget tracking, RFPs, PunchOuts and inventory on Automation and up. [1]
Support Business and Enterprise include dedicated support, and the workspace can be set up with you. A dedicated customer success manager for each client, and standard onboarding of two consultations and a one-hour training session. Concierge Setup and Dedicated Support are paid add-ons. Their FAQ puts onboarding at four to six weeks. [1]

Choose Mittral if

  • You want to start today on your own: Mittral has a free plan and is set up in the browser, while Precoro’s plans are quoted after a demo and their FAQ puts onboarding at four to six weeks.
  • You want a lower bill on monthly terms: Mittral’s Starter, Growth and Business plans ($39, $128 and $227 a month) cost less than Precoro’s published starting price of $499 a month, and Mittral bills monthly rather than annually.
  • Your process is request, approve and send the order, and you don’t need receiving, invoices or payments in the same tool.
  • Requesters must never sign off their own purchases: Mittral blocks it, and Precoro’s site does not say.
  • You buy for more than one company and want each entity’s legal name, address and VAT number on its orders without an add-on.

Choose Precoro if

  • You want goods receipt, invoice capture and 2- and 3-way matching in the same system, which Precoro includes from its Core plan and Mittral does not offer.
  • You need budgets: Precoro tracks spend against budgets in real time on its Automation plan and up.
  • You want POs, bills and suppliers to flow into accounting software, or an ERP connection and API.
  • You want to pay suppliers from approved invoices and issue prepaid virtual cards.
  • You want a wider procurement toolkit with guided set-up: supplier portal, RFPs, PunchOut catalogues, inventory and contracts, with a customer success manager.

In short

Precoro covers the whole procure-to-pay cycle, from request to receipt, invoice matching, budgets and payment, and is sold by quote on annual terms with assisted onboarding. Mittral does one part of that, approval by amount and the purchase order to the supplier, with a free plan, monthly billing and self-serve set-up. If you need receiving, matching or an accounting connection, Precoro does more; if you need purchases agreed before they are ordered, Mittral is simpler, and its plans up to Business cost less than Precoro’s starting price.
